We are Cannenta Foundation
As a 501(c)(3) organization located in Addison, TX, the Cannenta Foundation’s mission is to provide access to compassionate, culturally sensitive mental health care with improved outcomes by removing financial barriers and offering a comprehensive list of services to help ensure exceptional care.
Currently, we run two programs:
Project Ayuda, which provides low-cost or no-cost bilingual mental health services to underserved communities
Project Adelante, which aims to remove the financial barriers that prevent bilingual clinicians from becoming fully licensed mental health practitioners
Project Ayuda
Project Ayuda strives to break the financial and language barriers to receiving culturally sensitive mental health services.
At the end of December 2023 Project Ayuda:
9 Clinicians scheduled 91 Clients
Total of 590 Scheduled Appointments
Logged in 1,875 Clinical Volunteer Hours
Project Adelante
There is a lack of bilingual clinicians. According to an APA report, there are only 5.5% of psychologists who can provide mental health services in Spanish. Project Adelante strives to empower Hispanic mental health clinicians to complete the requirements for clinical licensure in the state of Texas by removing financial barriers of supervision hours and testing.
At the end of December 2023 Project Adelante:
Supervised and trained a total of 12 bilingual participants.
Provided clinical supervision to 5 participants.
